I am a Kitty Cat from Jackson County in Southern Indiana. I am so glad I am safe now, but I was really scared when I was alone in cold weather without anyone to care for me. Sending wishes that all other homeless pets are able to find somewhere nice to stay.
I was named Oscar Alvin Roddey after the Great-Grandpa of my primary caretaker, Miss Glenda Sue (Suzie). My namesake used to own an auto repair garage in Houston, Indiana. I wish I had known him. I came along to this family so close to 50 years after the day that their Papaw Oscar passed away in November 1964.
I relocated down south to Knightdale of Wake County in North Carolina in July 2015. It is a lot bigger than Houston, Indiana. I love the Tar Heel State and am happy to not have to deal with the bitter winters of the Midwest. I really appreciate that the sun shines so much here in the south. I love to lounge and soak up rays of sun from my cat tree by the eastern window.
I have a small forest in my backyard that I watch from the windows. I enjoy seeing many different kinds of birds stopping by for snacks. Also see a lot of squirrels scampering around. There is a community of these cute critters with nests high in the tall trees. I see bunnies in the summer months. Once in a while a deer or two will visit.
I appreciate nature, as it reminds me of my roots in the hills of Indiana, a very scenic place surrounded by Hoosier National Forest. Autumn in Jackson County, Indiana is simply amazing. So many pretty colored leaves all around. The natural beauty of Spring and Summer are awesome too. Winter in Indiana can be vicious, but I guess you learn to take the good with the bad. There is an abundance of scenic beauty in North Carolina too. If you look for good things, you will find them.
